CV Format for Bangladesh

A Bangladesh CV should use the language in which the employer expects to evaluate the work. English is common across private companies, banks, technology, outsourcing, international organizations, and many professional vacancies. Bangla can be more suitable for local-language recruitment or a prescribed process. If you apply in both languages, maintain two complete files. Translating only section headings while leaving experience in another language creates inconsistent terminology and makes the document harder to review.

Keep official names for degrees, institutions, certifications, software, and employers even when the surrounding text is translated. Explain an internal job title briefly when a recruiter outside the organization may not understand it. State English and Bangla proficiency accurately and connect language ability to actual work such as reports, customer communication, teaching, research, field interviews, or coordination instead of listing a language with no level or context.

A fresher CV can lead with education when it is the strongest qualification, but education should not stand alone. Select internships, academic or personal projects, training, volunteering, competitions, campus leadership, and coursework that demonstrate the target skills. For each example, explain the problem, your contribution, tools or methods, and a concrete output such as a report, prototype, presentation, event, analysis, campaign, or improvement.

Do not use one generic career objective for every application. Write a short summary that names the target role, relevant area of study or training, one or two capabilities, and the kind of contribution you can support with evidence. Once professional experience becomes stronger, move recent relevant employment above education. A one-page CV is often enough at the start of a career; add a second page only when it contains relevant work, projects, credentials, or publications rather than repeated descriptions.

Private and finance employers may prioritize reporting, customer service, systems, controls, targets, accuracy, and turnaround time. NGO and development roles often need programme area, field locations, beneficiaries, research methods, partners, safeguarding, donor reporting, and community outcomes. Technology and outsourcing applicants should show projects, stack, links, delivery, client communication, reliability, and measurable product or operational impact rather than a long unproven list of tools.

Parents’ names, religion, marital status, full address, identity records, and named references are not default content for every Bangladesh CV. Add a requested detail through an optional custom field only for a trusted employer or official process, and remove it from general-purpose versions. Provide reference contact details only when the employer asks and after receiving the person’s permission. Keep identity documents and other sensitive records outside a CV shared through job boards or public links.
